Cody P. Stokowski
Cody was born and raised in Alberta playing hockey competitively. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta in 2015, Cody ventured to Australia to complete his law degree. Cody is accredited to practice law in both Canada and Australia.
Cody has been practising in family law since 2019. His focus is on opening communication channels, reducing conflict, and resolving matters in a pragmatic way. His focus is on ensuring relationships continue to be amicable to assist with productive co-parenting, and to bring finality to issues efficiently. If required, Cody’s litigation experience provides him the skillset necessary to resolve matters through the court process.
Cody has appeared in Binding and Non-binding Judicial Dispute Resolutions, Domestic Specials, chambers appearances, and oral/viva voce hearings. He has appeared in the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, on an array of matters including mobility/relocation hearings, parenting, child and spousal support claims (including enforcement in the USA), and matrimonial property division matters in Canada and other countries such as the United Kingdom, which include division of farms, corporations, and corresponding assets. He has working relationships with experts to assist parties in determining their self-employment income for support purposes, financial experts to assist clients with investing property and financial assets, and tax experts to deal with cross-border tax filing issues related to property and support issues.
Cody has volunteered with Calgary Legal Guidance, was an active volunteer during law school providing pro-bono legal service at a commercial law clinic, is an active member in the community, and is a father himself.
